Wet and windy conditions don’t stop Biggleswade athletes

Just four senior members headed to the undulating highways of north Bedfordshire to participate in the Oakley 20 mile road race – ideal for those training for the Brighton and London Marathons.  Frank McLoughlan was the first Biggleswade athlete to cross the line, with Andy Hedley just a few places behind him.  Juliet Grimwood was the first of the Biggleswade ladies to finish, a minute ahead of fellow runner, Ros Bodi.

And, husband and wife team, Mark and Elaine Stead, battled the wind and driving rain on Sunday as they took part in the Bedford Autodrome Sprint Duathlon.  This was a new achievement for Elaine, who is currently training for the Brighton Marathon, and she finished 6th in her age group in a credible time of 1 hr 58 mins 3 secs.
