Naylor and Davies are club 10K champions

Congratulations to Juliet Naylor and Paul Davies who were declared the Biggleswade Athletic Club 10K champions following a hotly contested Standalone 10K at Letchworth on Sunday 4th October.  There was also a 3rd place finish, and a new personal best time, for Craig Brown.

Report from Watford Open and the Brighton Marathon

Biggleswade AC athletes Dan Steel and Michael Blunt competed in the Watford Open event on the evening of Wednesday 8th April.

Dan managed to win his 200m race with yet another new personal best time, whilst Michael also managed a podium win in the 800m, and a new season’s best time.

And Elaine Stead travelled to the south coast, last weekend, not to relax by the sea but to participate in the Brighton Marathon.  Despite the strong, coastal winds Elaine managed to finish in just under 5hrs (04:56:24).

Race report for w/e Sunday 1st March 2015

There was an abundance of personal best times, as well as a couple of trophies, from four senior Biggleswade AC athletes who travelled down to Battersea Park in the early hours of Saturday morning to take part in the Self-Transcendence 10 Mile race.  Despite the strong winds, and a temperamental car, Isobel Everest, Paul Cooke and Paul Davies all managed new PBs with John Haines also breaking the club record for his age category.  John and Isobel also received trophies for being 2nd Veteran Male and 1st Senior Lady athletes, respectively.

It was also a good outing for junior member, Daniel Hemming, as he finished in 4th place at the Cambridge Junior parkrun on Sunday and senior athlete, Lindsay Lister, competed in the 400m at the England Athletic Masters Inter-Area Track & Field Challenge held at the Lee Valley Athletics Centre.  In a very competitive field, Lindsay finished in an amazing 4th place in the W35 category race, in a time of 69.49.
