A good start to 2016 for Dan and Euan

Euan Dickson-Earle was back in action at the Metaswitch Open Games on the 3rd January following a long period away from the track due to injury. This was his first season competing in the 60m hurdles at senior level yet he still managed a 3rd place, podium finish, in the final. Euan’s younger brother, Callum, has also moved up an age category and competed, for the first time, in the U20 men’s 60m hurdles finishing 7th.

Continuing with indoor athletics, Dan Steel competed at the England Athletics U20/Senior Combined Events Championships in Sheffield over the weekend of 9th/10th January. It was a good start to the season with Dan notching up 3,374pts in total, 10pts short of a new personal best. Rather frustratingly, Dan, also, narrowly missed out on a new heptathlon club record by just 3pts.
